05. COMPETITION ENTRY & PRIZE PRESENTATIONS

5.1 Entry to a Club Competition is by an entry sheet posted on the notice board in the changing rooms at least three weeks ahead of the competition date. Entry sheets will be set out in time slots and members desiring a specific starting time are advised to state that when entering their names at that time.

Members who have good reason to cancel an entry should do so through the Professional’s shop by noon on the previous day. Members cancelling after this time must pay the entry fee for that competition. Members who fail to cancel their entry or who do not arrive promptly for their start time will receive notification of disqualification from the next two competitions.

06 COMPETITION CONDITIONS

Match Play
6.1 In All competitions draws for knockout stages are made on the assumption that competitors on both sides have equal responsibility for arranging matches. Where matches are not played by the appropriate date, both sides will be eliminated from the competition. The Committee reserves the right to reinstate any side or both sides thus disqualified subject to an acceptable valid reason being submitted to the Committee IN WRITING, as soon as possible after the lapsed date. For Ladies knock-out competitions the rules are as posted on the Competitions notice board in the Ladies locker room. – Delete this
6.2 Matches which end all square must be decided by a sudden death playoff (commencing at Hole 1)
6.3 Strokes will be received in sudden death playoffs.
6.4 Matches which cannot be completed due to the course becoming unplayable or darkness must be resumed from where play was suspended
Stroke Play
6.5 In stroke play competitions, ties will be resolved by matching cards. Places will be decided by the best score over the last 9, last 6, last 3 and the last hole with handicaps being applied proportionally.
6.6 All cards, whether completed or not, must be entered on the computer (when in use) and then placed in the box at the end of the competition. Abuse of this rule will lead to loss of handicap. When confirming the entry of a card on the computer it is the responsibility of each player to ensure that the entry is correct. The computer entry of a score lower than the score actually taken on any hole will result in disqualification (as in the Rules of Golf 6.6). Disqualification will also result where a higher handicap than the player is entitled to or no handicap is recorded on the score card (Rules of Golf 6.2), this applies to any competition.
