Welcome to Keswick Golf Club’s Junior section. Golf is not just about hitting a golf ball with a club, you will also learn to focus, concentrate, discipline, social skills, honesty and integrity, just to mention a few words. A structured Junior coaching program takes place on Saturday mornings from early April until the end of September, with beginners lessons between 10-11am and advanced juniors between 11-12am. These lessons are run by the Club’s PGA Professional, Gary Watson, who is helped by Glen Ratcliffe, a very committed Junior organiser and they are teaching every thing from the basic fundamentals to on course strategies and general etiquettes.

Golf Mark

Keswick golf club was in December 2007 awarded the English Golf Union/English Ladies Golf Association GOLF MARK for their Junior and Beginner-friendly golf facilities. At the time the Club was one of only about 40 clubs in the country to receive this award and the first in Cumbria.

The award comes after a rigorous examination of the Club's standards and procedures covering:

Coaching and Playing

Club Environment including sports equity and ethics

Child Protection and Duty of Care

This Golf Mark accreditation recognizes that the Club is a place where young people can learn to play golf in a safe, enjoyable and welcoming environment, structured so that they can develop as a player and as a person. The Club wans to show them how to be part of a game that will teach them respect, social and life skills, discipline, honesty and integrity. We want to encourage them to continue playing beyond their junior years, moving on to adult membership of the club.

Golf Mark accreditation assures parents and guardians that Keswick Golf Club is geared to modern standards of care and respect for young people and that their children will play golf in a safe and organized environment.
