The clubs Senior's Section are known as the Fellmen. They form a very active part of the club.

The Fellmen meet for regular games on Tuesday & Friday mornings during the season. Meeting in the car park from 9am in the Summer and 10am in the Winter in readiness for the 1st tee.

The programme of events is varied between informal social games, individual qualifying events and team competitions. The Fellmen also take part in a number of team matches against Senior teams from other golf clubs in Cumbria. These matches take place throughout the season and are played on a home and away basis and are followed by an enjoyable social meal following the game.
Now with 30 members aged 55+, the Fellmen have had their most successful season in 2025 competing in a total of 13 matches against other senior sections of clubs around Cumbria they have won 10, a loss of 2 and 1 being halved.

Becoming a member of the Fellmen is easy, you just have to be 55+ and when you become a member of the club or renew your existing membership you simply select the option on the application form and then there is a £10 annual fee. Strong golfing ability is definitely not a pre-requisite, more the enjoyment and sociability of being with other like-minded people, they are a friendly bunch and would love to welcome more senior golfers.
